Getting to stay in a real Chateau.

Whilst on my trip to France we were lucky enough

to find an amazing Chateau to stay in.

 

 

It was the most amazing place & Brigette, the hostess, produced the best breakfast

we encountered on the whole of our trip. It was just a fantastic experience

 

I can't speak hardly any French & Brigette is similar with English so it was lucky

I had my interpreter son accompany us as he was able to translate for us all.

 

 

 

The house was originally owned by the Captain of the French Navy

and was given to him by The King of France.

 

Well all in all I can’t recommend this enough. Put it on your bucket list J

Pre-loved Makeover

Inspired by the fab paints of Annie Sloan I started looking for suitable furniture

that looked in need of a make over.

 

First up was this lovely set of tables which unfortunately had lots of scratches all over it.

 

I decided on Annie Sloan Paris Grey which I have an unhealthy addiction to,

painted a couple of coats, finishing with the clear wax.

 

I was really pleased with the result, here it is:

 

 

And so begins my love of repurposing old but beautiful furniture.

This was so popular it sold within days, bonus.

Brocante Shopping in Avignon

Well I recently went on a working trip to France to find lots of lovely items for my business.

 

Whilst out there I wanted to visit as many Brocantes as I could & the first I got to was in Avignon.

 

We got there early but it was already packed full of eager hunters.

 

There were some beautiful (though expensive) items

 

 

I left empty handed apart from  a lovely collection of photographs

 

my favourite of which was these lovely pigs

 

I also loved this table

 

 

We've launched

I'm so happy to say that after a lot of hard work from me & my website guru Kathryn we have now launched.

I have lots to share  including the before & after of a few Shabby Chic projects I've been working on so watch this space.
